My name is Heather. While I am originally from Pennsylvania, most of my life has been spent here in Florida. My parents were a big animal lover and they passed that down to me and my sister. We grew up having a menagerie of animals – dogs, cats, mice/rats, turtles, a chinchilla, a rabbit, and you can’t leave the rotating fish. I currently have 2 old men: a spoiled Old English Sheepdog, Riley, and a mischievous Manx cat, Henry. Animals have always been an area that I greatly care about but it wasn’t until 2007 when I got my first job at a veterinary clinic, that I truly found my passion for animal medicine. I have worked as a receptionist, kennel technician, an assistant, and most recently a veterinary nurse. During this time I have work in both, daily practice as well as emergency medicine. While emergency medicine brings unpredictability to every day, it is daily practice that brings the ability to create that client/patient bond. I enjoy creating that bond with the client and their pet, to make every situation as comforting as possible.
My name is Brittany and I am a veterinary technician here at Lake Olympia. I am originally from Ohio, but my love of nature, wildlife, and, of course, Disney brought me down to the sunshine state. My animal interest started when I was very young by volunteering at various shelters in my hometown and, from there, my passion grew. Owning everything from many dogs, a few cats, hamsters, rats, turtles, and fish, my love of all things living is an understatement. I started working at my first vet clinic in 2016 as a veterinary assistant, then, after moving down here, got a job at Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom where not only my love of animals was expressed, but also my love of the environment. Although, once I started working at Lake Olympia, I knew I’ve found my fur-ever home.
My name is Kayla. I was born, and raised here in Florida. Growing up I had always dreamed of working with animals, and becoming a veterinary technician. In 2015 that dream came true. I’ve always had a strong passion, and love for animals. I currently have a beautiful American Pit Bull Terrier named Chloe, as well as two very adorable cats Harley and Buttercup, and three rats. I enjoy photography, as well as animal rescue. I am actively involved with rescue, so we often have some extra furry friends running around as we search for the perfect home for them. I am also a mother to a beautiful daughter named Neveah. She too is a huge animal lover, and enjoys helping her mama with all of our wonderful critters. I am happy to be a part of the Lake Olympia family. It is my home away from home. “
